Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor lost their life and three other people were injured.

The assaults succeed evenings of air raids in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
